don't kiss them goodbye

by Allison DuBois
Format: biography/memoir
Rating: 3.0
Reason for reading: 999 challenge, 666 challenge

i recently started catching some reruns of medium. i became curious about allison dubois, the inspiration behind the show. so i decided to read her book. also it filled the requirements for two of the challenges i'm participating in.

allison gives a basic overview of her life. but she mainly focuses on her ability as a medium. she went to school planning on becoming a prosecution attorney. but when she was interning at the d.a.'s office she became aware of her mediumship ability and realized that being a lawyer might not be the best use of her talents.
she mainly focuses her energy on missing persons cases and even helped the state of arizona implement the amber alert, after working on a missing persons case in texas.
she also spends time giving advice to parents who may have children exhibiting signs of being a medium, in order to help them nurture their children's gifts and help their children understand what's happening.
she touches upon the tv show but doesn't go into very much detail.
there is also a chapter written by her husband joe on what it is like to live with a medium.
overall, it was an interesting book. i am fascinated by the paranormal and love reading about people's lives, paranormal or not.
