i haven't done these in a while

1. It's cold and frigid inside all the buildings during the summer.

2. tomatoes are one of the foods i very much dislike; however, i have learned to like them cooked, but i still will not eat raw tomatoes.

3. My favorite health and beauty product is burt's bees chapstick. it keeps my lips smooth and i like the mint smell.

4. wednesday was such a beautiful day for a nice long ride on my bike. too bad it's on it was already on its way to arizona.

5. Well, first of all you need to get all the facts.

6. heidi klum, one of her admirers and tankful of piranhas that got loose; those were the cast of characters in a recent dream and it was quite strange to say the least.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to relaxing from this crazy week, tomorrow my plans include going to the movies and Sunday, I want to see my friends!

i have good news :) :) :)

it's been a busy week full of packing. our boxes are hitching a ride on their truck so we had to have everything packed by today. it was exhausting, grueling work but we got it done.

last week we were in negotiations with a prospect and as of friday we have been officially under contract. :) :) :) that is my news. :) our closing date is june 17, which means that will be our last day in texas. after we close, we head out of town.

i know we were already planning on leaving in june but i was hoping to stick around for the solstice but that won't be the case. and now it feels like i don't have enough time to see everybody. it's only a few short weeks away.

i am looking forward to new adventures and a fresh start.

friday night i went to a reiki circle with amethyst. it was really cool. i had a good time, experienced some cool stuff, witnessed some amazing stuff and felt very grateful to be there. afterwards we went to cosmic. :)

saturday night i went to a spirit circle in dallas. sunday night b, his mom and i went to gloria's for dinner after a long day filled with packing. the food was super tasty as always and we enjoyed a few drinks. the conversation was lively and we ended up staying there for three hours without even realizing it.

hopefully the coming weeks will be filled with book reading, hanging out with friends, hitting all my favorite restaurants one last time and getting the house cleared out.

milestones

this past weekend was full and plentiful. L2 graduated on friday. :) all in all, it was a great evening. L2 was radiant and looked like an egyptian goddess.
the graduation ceremony itself was long and tedious but it was really fun to stand up and cheer like it's nobody's business when she crossed the stage. that is the only real fun to be had unless you are the one graduating, in my opinion. afterwards, we went to a bar for a bit of celebration. i had a really good time during the short time i was there. izzy, who never drinks and is a notoriously cheap drunk, was blasted after downing only a third of her margarita. she is really cute and funny whilst intoxicated. to her credit, she was drinking on an empty stomach. and we were misled to think that the bar served some sort of food in the way of snacks. but they didn't.

saturday was the celebration dinner at palermo's. i was really looking forward to this. i love palermo's. i love my friends. it felt a little awkward at the beginning but as the night wore on everyone loosened up and great fun was had. i met new people this weekend. people that i would love to get to know better if i weren't moving.

and sunday was my wedding shower. and it went well! i had a good time and i am pretty sure everyone else did too.

now, i really wasn't planning on having any of these celebratory type parties once engaged. i am not really a shower person. i don't like attending showers so i didn't really think i would like having one. but b's mom offered to throw me one. she said, i know you're unconventional but i would love to throw you a shower. i just think that you should have what everyone else has.
i was going to say no but b was very persuasive. i don't know why since even he didn't want to go, haha ;) but i did think it would be nice to celebrate with all my friends before i move. i just made sure to let her know that i didn't want to play any shower games, have any balloons or decorations. i wanted it to be low-key. and it was. michele put together a great buffet, everything looked nice with all the right touches. it was very me. aside from my own feelings of awkwardness at receiving gifts while tons of eyeballs are staring at me, i had an awesome time.

it felt a bit surreal but it really cemented the 'wow, i'm getting married' feeling. and i felt really blessed to have seen my friends every day of the weekend.

and tonight was spiral's protein cooking class. foi and i went together. and as she stated in her blog we ate at king tut's prior to but wished we hadn't after we arrived and they served food. we didn't know that they would provide us with munchies.

the class was awesome! i learned so much. not just the different recipes but lots of cooking tips and more info about protein. everything that was made took very little time and the chef even demonstrated how to make seitan from scratch. i am very excited about that. i feel a lot more confident about trying to cook tofu in my own kitchen instead of just eating it at restaurants. and i am looking forward to trying to make my own seitan. they gave us several recipes to take home. i took a bunch of notes and hope i will still be here for the vegan baking class. i really want to know how to make those cupcakes!

so that's all the fun that is going on right now. we have been busy packing up everything and are more than halfway done, but i won't bore you with that. haha :)

i haven't done much reading this month. finished the midnighter trilogy but that's it. to be honest, i have been playing too much vampire wars in the late night hours. damn crackbook.

well, off to bed. and to new adventures to-mor-row. :) :) :)

details

we are back from az. we accomplished all that we set out to do. i feel good. and motivated. :)

we booked our space. we found our caterer.

and now we have our move date. well, an approximate date. it is definitely next month but we are not sure of the exact date. it will be after june 14. and before july.

so now we have a lot of stuff to do. pack up. see all my friends. commence a phoenix job search.

we also decided that it would be better to buy property than rent. we will look at condos, townhomes and foreclosures. if we get something that costs what our townhome here cost, then our bills will be the same. and when we move from phoenix to our next destination we will rent it out.

b doesn't want to rent his house here because his parents won't be here to keep an eye on it. but in phoenix they will be.

lots of new developments. change forthcoming. ex-ci-ting. :)

oh and i should be receiving our engagement photo footage this week. so i should be able to send out my save the dates later this week. we are going to print pictures, write the info on the back, stick in envelopes and mail out. i hope everyone likes them.

zen wellness center

our first day in az has been super productive and exciting. we got up at 8 and went for a run. had some breakfast then called all the places on my list and set up appointments with the ones that answered and left messages for those that didn't.

we spent the rest of the morning checking out complexes. we had an appointment at 3.

and it was perfect. absolutely perfect. perfectly unique and completely us. the price-absolutely right. we get the whole place, not just a room. there is outdoor seating, indoor seating areas, and kitchen facilities in addition to the main room. it's classy and cozy and has a wonderful vibe. you can check out pictures here.

i am going to call them tomorrow to put down the deposit.

so excited!!!! squee!!!!!

and tonight we are eating at the restaurant that we hope to book as our caterer. :) :) :)
